Mikheil is a seasoned professional with a decade of experience promoting democracy, electoral integrity, human rights and countering disinformation. He led the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy in Georgia as Executive Director from 2016 to 2020 and served as Secretary General of the European Network of Election Observation Organisations. Mikheil has led election observation missions and policy advocacy and pioneered ISFED’s methodology for social media monitoring in elections. He manages USAID’s Information Integrity Programme, implemented by Zinc Network in Georgia.
