DRI Launches Youth Internships in Government Bodies

Democracy Reporting Inteational is launching a call for applications addressed to youth for the reception of scholarships for state and local govement inteships. The program aims to involve young people (aged 18-35) in the public administration and development of Ukraine,familiarise them with the implementation of reforms and contribute to the creation of a personnel reserve for state authorities. The program starts in autumn 2024 and will last for three months. 

By embedding themselves in the teams of authorities,regional military administrations and territorial communities,the 20 selected participants of the program will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to master the practices of public service. The inteship program will be implemented by DRI in cooperation with the relevant authorities. 

The inteship program will cover the following areas: educational,organisational (preparation of events and work with mass media),economic (work with grant projects,work with MTD projects and inteational donors,energy management),legal (preparation of projects of regulatory acts and accompanying documents),culture and tourism,youth and sports,etc. 

Requirements for candidates: 

  • Age from 18 to 35 years,citizenship of Ukraine. 
  • Higher or incomplete higher education (preference is given to specialties in the field of public administration,law,economics or related disciplines). 
  • High motivation,desire for self-development,willingness to work for society. 
  • Active citizenship,responsibility and sociability. 

How to apply?  

  1. Fill out the application form at https://bit.ly/460i03U,adding a motivational letter and resume online,by August 15,2024 (18.00 Kyiv time). In the motivational letter,describe why you are interested in the inteship,professional goals and how you will use the experience gained. 
  2. Pass the interview. Candidates who passed the first stage will be invited by DRI for an interview. This will help assess the suitability of your motivation and skills to the requirements of the program. 

The inteship program is part of the project Democratic Accession,Sustainability,and Engagement (Ukraine-DARE),which is implemented by DRI with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany in cooperation with the Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR) Coalition and the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform. The project aims to promote the approximation of Ukrainian legislation to EU norms,dialogue about challenges for democracy in Ukraine during the war and support active youth.
