Is religious freedom different during times of peace and war? What if there is a dilemma between religious freedom and national security? This expert discussion will explore Ukraine’s security challenges and policy trajectories regarding religious organisations, as well as profound sensitivities surrounding them domestically and internationally. The panel will reflect on possible policy solutions that comply with the international human rights framework. Key in this is Ukraine’s political course to join the European Union and NATO, and respectively its commitment to human rights, the rule of law and democracy.
The Hybrid event will take place at the Centre Marc Bloch, Friedrichstraße 191, 10117 Berlin on Thursday 14, December 2023 at 18:30–20:00. The event is co-organised by re:constitution and Prisma Ukraïna programmes at Forum Transregionale Studien and hosted by Centre Marc Bloch.
