Berliner Landeszentrale für politische Bildung and Verfassungsblog.

Revaler Str. 29, 10245 Berlin

18:30 – 20:00

Critics often point to Ukraine’s corruption matters as a reason to question its EU membership, recovery efforts, and defense funding against Russian aggression. While focusing on accountability, transparency, and corruption prevention is crucial, this perspective overlooks the significant progress Ukraine has made in combating and preventing corruption since 2014.

Therefore, the conference ‘Building Internal Resilience: Corruption Prevention in Ukraine’s Recovery’  will convene leading experts from the German Platform for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and beyond to thoroughly assess the achievements, institutional landscape, and necessary improvements and reforms in Ukraine’s anti-corruption efforts since 2014 and the full-scale invasion. This event is jointly organized by the German-Ukrainian Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC), with the support of the German Platform for Reconstruction of Ukraine, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), Democracy Reporting International (DRI), and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

Before the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin, this conference will focus on how corruption can be prevented during the ongoing fast recovery and longer-term recovery. The in-depth discussions of the workshops will be supplemented by an evening panel discussion aimed at a broader audience interested in Ukraine. As part of the conference, experts  are gathered in a public event and a series of workshops will be conduced
