2015 was a special year for DRI, as we celebrated the organisation’s ten-year anniversary. However, it has not been a good year for democracy. The restoration of democratic governance in Sri Lanka is one of the only few exceptions. We are particularly concerned about countries that had been successful in establishing pluralistic, democratic institutions. Our ten-year anniversary was thus also a time for reflection on DRI’s way forward in tackling democracy challenges.
