How is Ukraine’s democracy responding in the midst of full-scale war? And is it possible to advance democratic reforms while under attack?
Democracy Reporting International, together with the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform and the Reanimation Package of Reforms Coalition, wrote a paper titled “Ukraine’s Democratic Institutions During the War: A Check-Up” to analyze the questions posed above and shed light on the challenges that Ukraine’s institutions face in the midst of the conflict.
This event served as a platform for discussion among different political actors, including parliament, civil society organizations, think tanks, and international partners, on the preservation of democratic institutions and the support of democratic processes during and after a full-scale war. Timed with Ukraine’s Constitutional Day and the International Day of Parliamentarism, the event focused on the Ukrainian Parliament – the Rada. The discussion is available in English and Ukrainian.
