The Fa’ela project aimed to strengthen the role of women in decision-making and promote their effective participation in public life in Libya. Its main objective was to involve women’s civil society organisations and women leaders in joint initiatives and to promote a support network that would enhance women’s engagement in social, political, and economic life.
Fa’ela’s vision was one in which women’s civil society organisations are better trained and organised. As a result, these organisations aimed to become better connected and coordinated with their civil society peers and female decision-makers. The project also sought to raise awareness among respected Libyan influencers about the role of women’s civil society organisations and female leaders, encouraging broader engagement in public life and inspiring other women to pursue similar paths.
