Unearthing Kfarshouba2019s Hidden Water Treasure

In Kfarshouba,a jouey of discovery and community awareness began with Tamadon NGO. The municipal observatory team,with the guidance of a hydrogeological expert Dr Samir Zaatiti,set about to explore the hidden potential of water resources in the town. In the process,they uncovered many violations such as excessive irrigation and overuse of water,which were documented in a detailed report.

On 9 September,65 residents of Kfarshouba gathered for the presentation and discussion of the findings with members of the local community,the mayor of Kfarshouba Dr Kassem AL-Kadiri,and municipal officials. The session ignited a newfound awareness of the importance of preserving and haessing the town’s water wealth for the community’s benefit.

“Kfarshouba is a remote area deprived of services. The Municipal Work Observatory and Tamadon brought hope for young men and women to build a community that advocates for their rights.” Dima Kadri – Municipal Observatory Volunteer – Tamadon.

Joualist Hasan Kamara,commissioned by Tamadon,captured the essence of this jouey in a short video,highlighting the community’s determination and unity in safeguarding their invaluable water resources. Kfarshouba’s story is not just about water; it’s a testament to what can be achieved through knowledge,collaboration,and a shared commitment to a common purpose.
